FNQ Pearls young women’s rugby league teams in partnership with Northern Cape Island Enterprises Pty Ltd are seeking sponsorship and financial assistance to attend the 2023 Murri Rugby League Carnival hosted at the Redcliffe Dolphins home ground in September this year.

This year, we are excited to announce the formation of the inaugural U15's FNQ Pearls team, who will join out U17's women's team to participate in the 2023 Murri Rugby League Carnival. We are confident that this new team will build upon the achievements of our U17's team and continue to make a positive impact in their communities.

We have identified 50 young women that will participate in this years’ tournament who come from low socio-economic communities in Far North Queensland including the Torres Strait, Cape York Peninsula, and the Cairns District. Many of these young women have never participated in such tournaments due to geographic and socio-economic challenges inherent to this area, however these young women are athletes and have excelled in promoting positive health, education and sporting participation outcomes amongst their peers and community. They are determined to work and train hard to put together a team to participate in this opportunity and pathway to realise their dreams and aspirations to inspire others.

In 2022, with the help of our previous sponsors, we achieved great success in the tournament. Our team secured several impressive accomplishments, including four girls selected for the QLD U17's Murri team, four girls selected to play for U19's South Sydney Rabbitohs in the Tarsha Gale Cup in NSW, and 10 girls selected to play for the U19's North Queensland Pride in the Karen Murphy QLD Cup competition. We firmly believe that our success is a testament to the talent, dedication, and hard work of our young women and their coaches. We are committed to continuing our mission of empowering young women through rugby league and inspiring them to become role models.
